White 2A Logic Pro incompatibility with M1 Mac Mini

Postby iamevilhomer » Sun May 02, 2021 9:49 pm

I recently got an M1 Mac Mini (Big Sur) and most of my T-Racks plugins work but White 2A fails validation with the message:

RENDER TESTS:

Input Format: AudioStreamBasicDescription: 2 ch, 44100 Hz, 'lpcm' (0x00000029) 32-bit little-endian float, deinterleaved
Output Format: AudioStreamBasicDescription: 2 ch, 44100 Hz, 'lpcm' (0x00000029) 32-bit little-endian float, deinterleaved
Render Test at 512 frames
Slicing Render Test at 64 frames
PASS

Render Test at 64 frames, sample rate: 22050 Hz
Render Test at 137 frames, sample rate: 96000 Hz
Render Test at 4096 frames, sample rate: 48000 Hz
Render Test at 4096 frames, sample rate: 192000 Hz
Render Test at 4096 frames, sample rate: 11025 Hz
ERROR: -66745 IN CALL AudioUnitRender

* * FAIL

I also noticed the Brickwall limiter "crashed validation" and and TR5 Suite "couldn't be opened"

Is this a known issue? Are there any immediate plans to fix it?
Please help! I use the White 2A quite often but right now it is dead in the water.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I am sorry to hear about the problems you are running into.

As this is primarily a user to user forum, someone-else may chip in. But please remember that the same symptoms do not necessarily mean the same problem.

Meanwhile, the best thing to do is check the FAQs, via here. If they do not resolve the issue, there is a link at the top of the Search FAQs page to the Technical Support form, for some one to one investigation and help. Response time aims to be within 2 working days (US (East Coast) Business hours, generally), but in the current circumstances please allow some more time.

And, to help others who run into a similar problem, please let us know what you did to resolve the problem. Please do not quote directly any correspondence from Support, as that may apply only to your particular circumstances and may lead others down the wrong track.

I have the same setup m1 Mac mini and the same issue with those plugins. Did you ever get this resolved? What was the fix?

T-RackS was just updated today. It has been M1 compatible via Rosetta 2 already, so I suggest that anybody with an issue makes sure they have the latest version of T-RackS installed and if that doesn't help please open a ticket with IK Support and they will surely be able to assist you.

Thanks Peter. I just got this machine with the latest version of Logic. I updated T-Racks this morning and when I first launched Logic is when discovered the issue. I’ll open a support ticket and hopefully get it resolved.

I think it might be something to do with T-RackS in Logic than running on an M1 at least. That should be easier to suss out anyway, so maybe that's wishful thinking but I know they had tested all the existing plugins on M1 Macs running Big Sur before the Total Studio 3 MAX release and everything but MODO DRUM was working very well. MODO DRUM doesn't work because it requires AVX which neither M1 nor Rosetta 2 currently supports.

If you want 3rd party software, such as TR, to run in LP under Rosetta you need to open LP as Rosetta first. You can't mix native and Rosetta in the same processes.

T-RackS and its processors work on M1 Macs. If that's not the case for you please contact IK Support and they will troubleshoot directly with you and resolve your issue.

I‘ve already contaced the technical support a few months ago.
They could not help me. I asked apple-support for help and they said to me it seems to be an ik-Multimedia-Problem. What now?

Hi chrisnika10

Are you trying to run them as native on the M1 or under Rosetta 2?

And is this in a DAW or as standalone?

You can reply to your ticket as these are definitely working via Rosetta 2 on M1 Macs. A reply to your ticket to tell them their suggestions didn't work will let them know that you still have the issue and they'll continue to work with you.
