Instrumental rock-metal recorded using Amplitube 4

Postby valentinbk » Mon May 07, 2018 2:05 pm

Hey folks, I'm Valentin, a lead guitarist-solo artist and I'm currently working on a project of guitar centered instrumentals with the genres varying from soft rock to heavy-prog metal.

I'm using Amplitube 4 for my guitar and bass tracks now (along with other EQ and compressor plugins) and I'm very happy with the results.

Below are some of the tracks:
Losing the Sense of Time (soft rock with Spanish music vibes):

Sandstorm (heavy-prog metal):

Insomnia (soft rock):

In Memory (melodic metal):

Hope you'll enjoy the music, and let me know what you think

Hi,

I really enjoyed your playing and the tone was awesome. As stated above what presets did you use? I look forward to hearing more of your work.

Thanks guys! Here's the link to the Sandstorm solo preset. Keep in mind I'm also running EQ (cutting out the lowest and very highest frequencies and boosting a few mids) and I believe I was running compressor as well. It's not a one preset fits all but I do use it as the base for all my lead sounds and tweak it for the specific track using the options in Amplitube and in the DAW.

A new track is heavily in the works (which is one of the reasons it took me so bloody long to respond) and will be posted soon. Here's a preview of the guitar solo I posted a couple of weeks ago:

Thanks Dan, full track is coming very soon and happy to say that sound wise, it's quite different from that solo preview. Can't wait to get the full thing out

And the new track is now live. It's a melodic metal instrumental track, dedicated to Chester Bennington, the late frontman of Linkin Park. Parts of it were written following the news of his passing and it's probably the most emotional one in the project to this point

Hey folks, just recently released a new track in the solo project called "Open Season", the style on this one is somewhere between hard rock and old school heavy metal.
As usual, the base for the guitar and bass sound is Amplitube 4. For the bass I was using the SVT-VR from the SVX 2 expansion.

Hey folks, just got a new release out. This one is a heavy-thrash metal track, and once again, Amplitube has been used in it extensively.

I got Amplitube Max right before I began recording, so I had a great deal of fun testing out different configs before setting on the following:
Mesa Boogie Rectifiers on the rhythm guitars (different configurations on each side, Triple Rectifier on right, Dual on left, different cabinets too)
Dual Rectifier on the first guitar solo
Orange Rockerverb 50 on the 2nd guitar solo
SVT-4 PRO for the bass

Hope you'll enjoy this one as well

Whoa, Valentin!

Excellent track, the guitar sounds were really great as, of course, was the playing.

I too really like and tend to use the Mesa an Orange options in AT.

Take care and post more when you can!

Just released a new one, also on the heavy-thrash side. As previously, Amplitube 4 Max was used for all the guitar and bass sounds.
