AmpliTube 3 getting static noise every few seconds

Hey guys,

I just installed AmpliTube 3 Free on my Mac Mini and I have an odd problem. When I load AmpliTube I got a rush a static noise that sounds like a radio tuned to a station with no affiliate. It lasts about 1.5 seconds then goes away. It continues to do this as long as AmpliTube is turned on every 3-5 seconds. The odd part is that when I load it into my CuBase 6 software and add AmpliTube to my newly recorded track, the static transfers to the wav file that I create. Any ideas what would be causing this? I am using a Scarlett 2i4 interface, but I can change that to my USB mic and still get the same static issues. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Sounds like it may be related to it not being authorized. Download the latest Authorization Manager from http://www.ikmultimedia.com/authorizationmanager and use your serial number which can also be found in your User Area to authorize it.

I have the same problem but i can´t find the serial number for amplitube 3 free, only the serial numbers of custom shop and another 3 programms are available in my products. Nothing about Amplitube 3 free. And the noise make me crazy, please help me.

Can you see "AmpliTube 3 Custom Shop" stating latest version 3.15.0.c? There should be a dropdown called Serials/Authorizations under where you'll find the serial number. It's not actually called AmpliTube 3 Free.

Nop, i can´t see "AmpliTube 3 Custom Shop" stating latest version 3.15.0.c", but i see "AmpliTube Custom Shop latest versión: 4.5" with this serial number: ACS40-64Q7ZZFI-79182 and when i paste this number in the Authorization Manager, the green light shine ok, but the dammned noise continues every 5 seconds.

That could well be the problem then: you are trying to authorise version 3 with a version 4 serial number.

If you don’t have a version 3 serial number (which suggests you downloaded it from another site) you could download version 4 from the official site and authorise it. TBH it has recently got some extended features not in version 3 and is officially supported by IKM, so probably the best option, IMHO.

I'll stress that downloading AmpliTube Custom Shop from anywhere but IK's site is probably not a the safest of options. And I'll agree with garfy - the latest version is the best option.

i have downloaded the custom shop and the amplitube 3 free from IK multimedia, and have tried a dozen of times with te registration code, but no way, when i run the amplitube, the noise is every 5 seconds sounding again and again. I surrender. I will continue to plug my bass guitars in the simple but reliable Hartke.

I would bet that v3 is registered under a different account then. If you downloaded from IK the serial number would be in your User Area. I’m sure IK Support can sort this all out rather quickly.

it´s a little weird maybe, but now i have downloaded Amplitube 4 (a version with restricted features) and works ok. Thanks for all the tips.

After you had downloaded & installed AmpliTube 4, did you run the Authorisation Manager again? If not, you could try that.
