You get the software after you receive and register the iRig Stomp I/O unit.

iRig Stomp I/O has an audio interface built in but it is a single channel interface. You may be able to use it with another interface on computer but you will only have a single input on an iOS device so you would not be able to there.

Not sure about one thing : is the processing unit (iPad, computer, Tablet, etc) a necessity to have the pedalboard working? I mean that I am not sure about the usage of the said devices. Do we need to plug them just for editing and making patches settings or are they needed for actual operation?
Thanks in advance!
Can also work as a standalone MIDI foot controller, without a device or computer
However, if you'd like to use iRig Stomp I/O as a standalone MIDI foot controller you can connect it to a MIDI interface and/or device to control directly without a computer or iPad attached directly to iRig Stomp I/O. As noted at http://www.irigstompio.com :
iRig Stomp I/O will send CC/PC messages but there will be no editor released with it. If you'd like deeper technical insight you may want to discuss with IK Support at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-sup ... -hardware/

Peter_IK wrote:Any demo will normally only be available when the software is released and that is when the pre-order is over so that would not be likely. Personally having used the Leslie gear at NAMM and beyond, I'd say this is not a huge risk to preorder as it sounds AMAZING but that's my opinion
