Amplitube 4 - crashes when selecting ASIO, or huge latency

Postby Fierce » Sun Sep 24, 2017 11:05 pm

I just installed the starter version of Amplitube 4
I'm going through a Focusrite USB into my laptop (works fine with all other DAWs)

There was no sound, so I went into Audio MIDI Setup

Its set to

Technology: Windows Audio
Input Device: Focusrite USB
Left channel: Input channel 2
Right channel: Input channel 1
(I swapped these around as was getting nothing)

Output Device: Focusrite USB OR Windows Audio

Both of them cause horrible latency and messed up noises

So, if I try to set 'Technology' to anything but Windows Audio, it crashes on me

Any suggestions please?

Have the same issue. Focusrite also. Asio4all installed. Amplitube freezes up when selecting ASIO.

I only got serial numbers for Amplitube 3, so I installed that and it works flawlessly with FocusRite

It doesn't have the ability to record though (that I can see) which is useful if I just want to plug in quickly without spinning up a DAW

Not ideal

ok, finally got a focusrite solo.
installed software then tried amplitube.

didnt work with amplitube 4. when selecting asio device. kept crashing.

Ran amplitube through ableton live vst.

so why did it work as a vst and not as the app?
Ableton uses the focusrite driver.

how to get amplitube working on its own?
uninstall asio4all.
When you do this, Amplitube finds the focusrite usb

Note: if you are using an instrument input, check your channels in amplitube.
I used the solo. input 1 is the microphone. input 2 is the instrument.
I sat down for an hour trying to work out why I got no sound, then stumbled across input 2.

enjoy

I recently built a new PC with a Focusrite 8i6 interface, and had trouble with both SampleTank 3 and Amplitube 4 crashing in standalone mode when I'd select ASIO in Audio/MIDI settings.

The "ASIOforAll" driver was the magic cure. When I installed it, it somehow jarred my IK products into accepting the Focusrite ASIO driver and function without any problems.

An earlier post mentioned that the UN-installation of the ASIOforAll driver worked as well, so it seems that the installation OR uninstallation of this driver, depending on whether or not you already have it, may be a viable solution for others who are having this same problem.
