Amplitube 5 and Airstep

Postby fenderman84 » Sat Jun 07, 2025 4:08 pm

Hey everyone,
I just recently purchased an Airstep pedal to use with Amplitube 5. I'm not interested in recording myself at this time and don't really want to use the more advanced features of the pedal at this time. I'm really just wanting to use it for a footswitch to turn pedals on/off while using amplitube. I'm running a windows 11 system and am going through an Axe I/O One audio interface.

I've tried using it through bluetooth with no luck. I've also hooked it up with the usb cable and also have a midi cable hooked up to the audio interface. I don't know if it's the settings in the app itself I'm missing, or a setting in amplitube itself I'm missing. Any help would be appreciated since the support people at XSonic haven't answered my email asking for support.

Thanks

Launch AmpliTube 5.

Go to Settings > MIDI tab.

Make sure "Airstep" (or "USB MIDI Device") is listed and enabled.

Click "Learn" next to any stompbox or amp function you want to control.

Step on the corresponding Airstep button — it should assign that button to toggle the effect.

Tip: You can use CC toggles to turn pedals on/off. If it's sending momentary values, you may need to tweak it to send Toggle (Latch) messages via the Airstep app.
