Tonex One with usb type-c and iPhone adapter

Postby puraxays » Sun Mar 02, 2025 1:01 pm

Hi everyone,

Can I use the Tonex One pedal with a USB Type-C cable and an iPhone adapter? The iPhone adapter is 20W and its manual states that it provides 5V 3A or 9V 2.2A.

In the Tonex One manual, it says: "It can also power the unit (5V 260mA)."

Would this cause any issues for the Tonex One over time? I want to use it without a computer at home after uploading presets.

I’ve tried it, and it works, but I’m not very knowledgeable about electricity. That’s why I’d like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

Should work great. The way these things usually work is the device draws only the amperage it needs, in this case 260mA, which is .26Ah, which is about 1/10 of what the iPhone charger is capable of providing.

Your setup should be fine since the Tonex One only requires 5V 260mA, well within your adapter’s 5V 3A output. No long-term issues expected, but use quality cables for safety. alpha modi
