Irig pro duo i/o eats up batteries to fast

Postby Harald1970 » Tue Feb 11, 2025 7:17 pm

Hi,

i have a newly purchased irig here. The setup is: One Røde NT1 A connected to irig,
headphone also, iPhone 13 connected via lightning.
Brand new alcaline batteries are eaten up within 15 minutes with the phantom power on.
That would be equal to 8 amps load if i assume that the cells have got 2Ah. The Røde is specified at 6mA power consumption, that makes about 100mA @ 3V. Far from 8A, and of course, this isn‘t possible anyway with nothing getting hot. The battery life is given at about 50 minutes in the manual. But 15 minutes seems to be a little bit too far from the specs. Is this possible or had to be there any kind of fault within the irig?
