Atmos Setup

Postby Biggs62 » Fri Jan 31, 2025 5:41 pm

Hi all, has anyone had success combining Mk2s with Precisions for an Atmos setup? I am currently using Mk2s everywhere except the fronts. I am using Precisions for my L/R. I would love to use Precisions as my rears as well but am unsure of how to get the tuning to them as X Monitor only sees 2 speakers at a time. Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks Richie B

I am using MTM MKII but have the same issue. My front L/R are calibrated using X Monitor but I guess all others in my 5.1.2 set up have to be calibrated the classical way using the one point calibration by pushing the CAL button.

There remain some open questions however never addressed in the manuals. For example do you have to recalibrate the L/R speakers already corrected with X monitor with the one point measurement using CAL or do you just have to enter a delay to match the other speakers in the Atmos setup. You can calculate these using the Dolby Dardt Excel. Also do I keep X Monitor on all the time and the L/R speakers connected after the calibration and delay entry has been done or are the data send to the speakers memory when you save the profile

If the answer is Yes to one of these questions it is better anyway to calibrate with the build in system as it is a waste of CPU, precious USB slot occupation and related cable chaos to have X monitor running all the time.

IK Multimedia advertises their immersive audio solution with 11 of their speakers for about Euro 4000 but there is little or no support on the immersive setup. In one of the « praise » videos the guy from the studio says he used the build in calibration. On the other hand how the single speaker knows what delay to set is a big question and not answered.

Hi there, here is the message I received from IK support...

You hook up each speaker and do the correct and it will save on the speaker. You dont have to always have it connected.

Hope this helps!
