Mod wheel question

Postby vincenttiggelman » Sat Jun 01, 2024 9:39 am

Hello everyone, first time poster here.

I have the Uno Synth Pro X and i love it so far, but one thing baffles me a bit.

I am trying to set up the mod wheel on my Keystep 37 so it controls the LFO1 amount.
I can't do thet directly so i set it up like this:

Mod 1: LFO 1 > Pitch, amount 0
Mod 2: Mod Wheel > Mod 1 amount, amount 30.

Result: nothing. So this is apparantly not the way this could work.
I used to do it like this with my other synths.
Is there another way to do this?

Thank you in advance for help and tips

In case it still is of relevance:

The mod matrix of the Uno Synth Pro behaves a bit different than it does on most of my other synths. To achieve what you want to achieve:

* Mod 1: LFO 1 > Pitch, amount 30
* Mod 2: Mod Wheel > Mod 1 amount, amount [max].

* As soon as you set up Mod 1, you will hear the maximum vibrato amount.
* As soon as you ser up Mod 2 with no amount yet, Mod 1 will disappear. This may appear weird, but mathematically, since the mod wheel is 0, Mod 1 multiplied with Mod 2 will result in zero.

It's confusing, but I quickly got used to it.

Hey IkUser09, [Mod Edit: suspicious /spam link has been removed; posting further such links will lead to a forum ban]

This is super helpful! Do you know if there’s a way to set a default vibrato amount when the mod wheel is at 0? I feel like the abrupt cutoff can be a bit jarring.

Didn't try, but I'd try the obvious:

* Mod 1: LFO 1 > Pitch, amount 30
* Mod 2: Mod Wheel > Mod 1 amount, amount [max].
* Mod 3: LFO 1 > Pitch, amount 5 (or whatever you like).

Mod 1+2 serve the mod wheel, Mod 3 provides the permanent vibrato ("Initial amount" on some synths like the Prophet~5).

HTH,

Sounds good, but my problem is that I don't have "mod1 amount" available as destination source. I have it in the editor, but it doesn't make any action. The feature is not implemented on the last OS.
