Authorization Manager

Postby Zealey » Sat Oct 12, 2024 2:36 pm

so, I'm looking at my IK account online and my product manager is connected to the internet, but my Authorization Manager says I have no internet connection. Some of my older products seem to have become unauthorized and I can't do it without this working. The offline reg process doesn't work either. Is none of this supported anymore? My version of Sonik Synth was working perfectly last week and now it seems it's unregistered!?

still offline today. Anyone know if it's something on my PC could be blocking it, or is this service no longer valid? It's not the firewall.

Since other users have not chimed in I'd suggest opening at ticket with IK Support via https://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/sw for official and direct technical support, if you have not done so already.

I have exactly the same problem with the Authorization Manager, despite a valid I-net connection, it cannot establish a connection. That's a big bummer, because SampleTank 4 max can no longer be started and doesn't show any error messages.

Authorization Manager is a legacy installer/authorization tool. You need to use IK Product Manager https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/productmanager

Thank you for your message. Yes, I know that for current products the product manager should be used, which is what I already do.
However, the SampleTank 4 installation (via Product Manager) suddenly no longer works and it is completely unclear where the problem came from.
As part of the troubleshooting, I noticed that the legacy Authorization Manager was installed as a program in the IK Multimedia folder. I wonder why and how it was installed there?
But as I said, the Authorization Manager is not my primary problem. I would like to finally be able to use the SampleTank 4 again and have been waiting for an answer to my support request for 3 days now.
But that's not the content of this thread, I know.

Is it common for IKM support requests to remain unanswered for so long? I haven't had the need yet, hence the question.

Did you turn on your firewall/antivirus settings during the installation, try turning it off and try again

Same here, authorization manager get's no connection on any windows computer. But it works on my mac. Btw, the Product manager has connection to the internet and is working on windows machines. The same windows machines where the authorization manager is not working cause of no internet connection...

Authorization Manager is only for legacy software, IK Product Manager is the way to download, install, and authorize IK software now. If you are having problems, please contact IK Support via https://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/sw and they will assist you.

That's what I already did, unfortunately with no reply. And just to clearify, I need to authorize SampleTank2, Sonik Synth2 and Philharmonik, all 32 bit versions. And that is only possible with the Authorization Manager, the Product Manager won't do that, as you know. It seems IKMultimedia shut down the internet connection of the Authorization Manager, which would be, simply said, unacceptable.

You're making an assumption. Please refrain from such conjecture, and allow IK Support to assist you. If you have an issue with a ticket you've submitted, please review the forum guidelines at viewtopic.php?f=10&t=19505 which covers what you can do here in such a case.
