Record 3.5mm audio with iRig Pro I/O

Hello!

I want to record a 3.5mm headphone audio out (from an external device) using my iRig Pro I/O connected to the iPhone lightning interface. Preferably stereo, but mono will suffice as well.

What kind of adapter I need to do that, and is it safe to feed a loud signal from 3.5 headphone jack to the iRig audio in?

I got it working using the following cable and adapter. Unfortunately, when I record a video (via the stock camera app or Filmic Pro), the audio stops after 5 seconds. Plugging and unpugging the 1/4 jack into iRig restores the audio but it goes silent again after 5 seconds.

iPhone XR, iOS 17.6.1 (latest), iRig firmware is also up to date.
