ToneX One Audio Settings Windows 10 ASIO

Postby LouisGuit » Sat Jun 22, 2024 7:06 pm

I've had my pedal for two days now. When I plug my headphones in, it sounds great. However, when I plug the usb-c pedal into my laptop OR my desktop computer, Tonex SE recognizes my pedal, so there's no problem. However, it's impossible to hear just the sound of the software presets, as the sound of the pedal overlaps with the sound of the software, so it sounds really bad. Impossible to arrange the audio settings, because when I click on ASIO nothing is displayed. I've repeatedly downloaded the driver available on your site for the tonex one pedal, but on both my computers, nothing works, and I can't hear anything but the software sound. Impossible to access the guitar's dry sound to apply preset effects. I'm beginning to lose my patience  :?

I would recommend reviewing the section in the User Manual that covers how to use TONEX ONE as an audio interface. You basically will need to turn down the output on the pedal if you are using it as an audio interface and routing it to the same outputs. If this doesn't help, please contact IK Support via https://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/hw for official technical support since no users have chimed in to comment on your issue here (this forum is for user discussion but not direct technical support). Thank you.

Hi there!
I did write to customer service. I'm waiting for a reply. However, I've looked at the entire manual and I can't find the page where it explains that you have to turn the output... in order to hear the TONE only.

I was suggesting that, it is basically the part about monitoring always being on:
NOTE: For its structure, TONEX ONE monitoring is always active so you should disable the monitoring function inside your DAW/application.

That is exactly what I cannot do with Tonex One in TonexSE or Amplitube5SE. There is no way to switch monitoring off. This has forced me to work differently. What I do now is to use both TonexSE and Amplitube5SE, assigned to my ASIO Focusrite Scarlett2i2 audio interface, that has a direct monitor off-on switch. I work all the tone editing that way, and only once the tones are ready, I plug the Tonex One in to put the tones in with th TonexSE librarian. I can live with that, but it would be very nice if IK addresses this issue in the next firmware/software update.

Why does Tonex One lack the ability to switch off monitoring in TonexSE or Amplitube5SE, unlike other audio interfaces that offer this feature?

Make sure you have the latest firmware update.

Embedded TONEX ONE firmware 1.1.3

* Added option to enable/disable direct monitoring from the TONEX Librarian Global Setup panel when used as an audio interface.
* It is now possible to adjust the input trim level precisely from the TONEX Librarian Global Setup panel.
* It is now possible to edit the A4 reference for the tuner.
* Other controls available in the TONEX Librarian Global Setup panel.
