ToneX - no input level(or sound) from guitar Axe I/O

I am using ToneX 1.5.1 with my guitar plugged into my Axe I/O as usual. The Audio settings in ToneX show Input: AXE IO, Instrument Input: IN1, Output Device: AXE IO, Left Monitor: Out 1, Right Monitor: Out 2, Buffer Size: 512.

When I select a preset, I can do the audio demo and it plays fine, so it knows about the output device which goes into my studio monitors. But, when I strum my guitar, the level meter inside ToneX does not show any lights. The level meter on the AXE I/O does record a signal. The AXE IO Control Panel also shows a level.

If I fire up Amplitube 5 which has the same input/output settings as ToneX, everything works fine. I can play my guitar through any preset and the level monitor shows a signal. I can also choose a ToneX model within Amplitube 5 and it works fine.

It seems I am missing something within ToneX app itself. Even though my Audio Settings look correct, no input signal seems to be getting to the app.

Any ideas what I could be missing? I am running Mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1. I tried a search but didn't see anything related.

Additional info after more tests.

I wanted to rule out anything with the AXE IO so I tried a couple of my other interfaces.

The behavior was the same using the Fender Mustang Micro and the Positive Grid Riff as interfaces. No level lights within ToneX, but Amplitube 5 and Bias FX both work just fine.

Seems to support some app setting I am missing somewhere.

Hi there, any solution for this? I am having the exact same problem since 1.5, Amplitube works but i do not have a signal on Tonex.

IkMultimedia support answered my support ticket with the simple step to fix this.

In Privacy & Security, under Microphone, enable ToneX access.

Once I did that, it now recognizes signals from my interface. Working normally now.
