Leslie Control in B3-X

I have a track recorded in my DAW with slow leslie all the way through. I'd like to modify it to change to fast leslie in a few sections. Is there a way to do this? When I monitor the track and use my mouse to control the leslie it works but the changes don't get recorded for some reason. The leslie speed control doesn't appear to be sending any midi information to the DAW.
