.pak files, can they be deleted?

.pak files, can they be deleted?

I have all these other huge .pak files on my Imac for Sampletank, Modo Drums, etc, can they be nuked? As I understand they are archive files like RAR or ZIP, so Sampletank etc would not access them directly, only for installing the sounds. Correct?

Most of them are the files containing the audio samples (and there are some other .pak files too).
