A JavaScript error installing Amplitube 5.5.0

Postby IloyVaessen21 » Sat Oct 01, 2022 6:57 pm

I recently bought Amiplitube 5.5.0 on my new MacBook Pro M1. After installing the product manager and entering my authorization code, Amplitube 5 won't install. When I try to close the product manager I get a notification that says
"You are about to interrupt a download in progress and quit the IK Product Manager. Do you want to confirm?"
When I klick on " Ok" I get the following notification
"A JavaScript error occurred in the main process".

When I try to move the product manager to the bin I get the notification that it isn't possible because the product manager is still running.....so deleting and re-installing is not a option.

Can someone help me?

I have the same problem, but I haven't sorted it out yet.

Please contact Technical Support via the IKM web site, for some one to one diagnosis and help. After searching the FAQs, there may be relevant results, and you should see a [Contact Support] button at the bottom of the page.

Thank you. Did not see the support button first. This is the most logical step to take in finding help.

After about 25 attempts to fill in the support ticket I guess I will have to wait till someone finds a solution, unless there is a support for the support ticket.

What error did you get trying to open a support ticket? I just submitted one without issue.

I got an emial from the support team of IK Multimedia. You can read there mail in this post. The second solution worked for me! I can finally use Amplitube :)

Thanks for your patience while we got back to you.

Let us try to install outside of the IK Product Manager.

First, please check your Documents > IK Multimedia > IK Product Manager folder. You will see the downloaded product name in a folder, open to view the downloaded installer. Run the installer found here.

If the above step fails to install properly and the same error is given, then please do the following:

1. Visit http://www.ikmultimedia.com/userarea
2. Login and click on 'My Products'
3. Locate your product by name
4. Click the 'Past Releases' button for that product
5. At the top is the 'Current Release', download this installer for your Mac
6. Run this installer
7. Use the IK Product Manager to authorize.

I will try again. The error was something to do with an unacceptable character in the message content no matter what I wrote there. So every time I clicked "submit" all I got was an error message. My problem is the IK product manager won't update or install anything at all & locks up every time. I will have another shot at it later today. The problem is with a Mac M1, I have a windows computer as well no hassles there.
