How to report or ask for bringing that back?

I've put it on the wish list.

What about reporting about the preset/s sounding different in syn1 and syn2?

Hey Anil, thanks for researching that. If I got you right, it is the effects that differ between Syn1 and Syn2, while "the v1 synths themselves" sound the same in Syn1 vs Syn2.

If this is a problem, I'd open a support ticket if I were you. Additionally you can post your desire to the "official Syn2 wishlist" thread.

For my curiosity, why is this a problem? In existing DAW projects I'll continue using Syntronik 1, simply for laziness (why change satisfying or even finished projects?).

In a DAW project that is new or under construction, I'd use (or even switch to) Syntronik 2 and try out even better sounds for my synth track.

If you play live through Syntronik, differences might be an issue, as you might not want to handle two Syntronik versions while on stage. But are the differences big enough that anyone would hear them during a gig?

(or are there other situations that I am not aware of?)

Thanks, Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I'm still waiting for the reply from support team since I open this thread. Thought I can ask them once I receive reply instead of another ticket.

It is not because of FX that the preset differs in Syn1 and Syn2, it appears the sample itself.

For example, I'm used with certain presets sound in syn1, gradually I don't want to keep both versions, and if I wanted that particular sound one day, I'll not have in Syn2.

Hi anilnc,

I had a look at the ZIP files that I got from the MyProducts page in the "Syntronik 2 Memory-V Sounds Download" section.

- SYN_Memory-V_Part_1.zip contains samples (.pak) files as well as version 1 preset (.st3i) files.
- SYN_Memory-V_Part_2.zip contains only samples.
- SYN2_Memory-V.zip contains the new version 2 preset (.st4i) files.
- SYN2_Memory-V_SL_Update.zip contains just one more .st4i file.

So if you buy a v2 version of a "classic" synth (such as Memory-V) and a v1 version of a "Syntronik 2 only" synth (such as M12), I'd expect you to get:

- 60 new presets of Memory-V with all the old and new editing possible
- 147 old presets of Memory-V with only the old editing possible
- Some new presets of M12 with all the old and new editing possible (don't know how many)
- No old presets of M12, since it is a "Syntronik 2 only" synth

Cheers, Thomas

Hi,

You have not 60 new preset with all the old and new editing possible but some preset and some wave sets.

If you want obtain the number of new presets that you can edit with new edit panel you must put the "Wave Sets" folder, in the instrument folders, to the Recycle Bin and restart a search of "*.st4i" files.

The number of "st4i" files without the waveset folder match the number of presets which you can find in the "Preset Browser"!
Don't forget to restore the "Wave Sets" folder of the Recycle Bin

How many new preset you have i dont know because i don't own the version 2 of this synth i have only version 1 with the Syntronik 1 deluxe version but this interest me to know for choose the next synths i will get by the group buy

By the way i have already do this count for some synth i have grab with the group buy if that interest someone:

Pro-VS only 59 new presets that you can edit with new edit panel and wave sets
Megawave only 63 new presets
OSC-V only 63 new presets
GS-V 120 new presets
CATO only 78 new presets
KW-8000 only 81 new presets
M-12 only 64 new presets
Sorcerer only 67 new presets
For all this "new synths", no old presets

V-80 there is 102 old presets and 38 new presets for this "classic synth"

If someone is motived for completing this list or PM me for one or more synths particulary for Blau and Memory-V synths.
Only the new presets for the "classic synths" !
Thanks.

I must have been drunk when I counted my Memory-V presets. There are 42 factory .st4i files (plus 5 that I created myself).

Still I believe the number of factory presets loses importance once we start combining wavesets into our own presets.

The 147 old presets of Memory-V are not in the same directory.

Check in syntronik 2, Settings/Library.

To those of you hesitating to joining in the Group buy doubting if it's worth it, apart from the new excellent synths, the new Syntronik 2 presets for the Syntronik 1 synths sound absolutely brilliant, String Box and OXa particularly. Haven't tweaked much in the Edit page yet but it's working really well. So far it exceeds my expectations by miles :D

I was impressed, too. Please be advised that there are other reasons why someone might not want to join the group buy. For example, there are transfer restrictions.
  • FREE selected promotional products cannot be sold/transferred.
  • They reside in your account separate from the original purchase and would not be transferred if the original qualifying item is sold.
  • Note that qualifying products must remain registered in your IK account to retain eligibility.

Correct, you cannot transfer the up to 32 products you will get free only the one you paid $/€49.99 for :) I don't think that is too unexpected of a condition or restriction.

Thanks for chiming in. I agree in most cases its not unexpected. I have seen in places where people have been told they will have Syntronic 2 MAX via the GB if it goes the distance. I am an old man and do not have the 30 more years IK licenses give us. I keep trying to interest my kids in making music so I can leave them my purchases. Not sure if they can inherit the freebies.

Why not open an IK User Account for each of them and join the Group Buy from those Accounts. The best 49.99 * N that you've spent on them?
