Hi, I am planning to buy the AmpliTube software. I am brand new to digital modeling and have some very basic (embarrassing?) questions.
1) I have a Lenova Yoga 730 laptop that, I think, has a Realtek audio driver. Will that work? If not, what would work.
2) Should I connect my computer to my amp (Yamaha THR 30) or to my home speakers/monitors (or should I get something else that would optimize the sound)?
3) How do I connect my laptop to the answer in question 2?
4) Is there any other hardware that I need to run AmpliTube?
Thanks so much for any help you can offer.
Doug

you're gonna need an audio interface
IK Multimedia has several options ranging from 60 bucks to several hundred.
The iRigs are compact and inexpensive. They have a headphone out that you can plug headphones into or you can connect them to powered speakers
I personally like the AXE I/O - not cheap but flexible and great performance
Then there's the I/O Stomp which is an interface plus pedalboard - If I could pick just one it would be the AXE I/O for performance or the Stomp for the additional pedalboard functionality. depends on what makes the most sense for you
I use Axe I/O on both of my desktops and Stomp for my Laptop
You will also need powered speakers.... the sound from your laptop will suck
