Philharmonik multi channel in Cubase 10

Postby Charlz » Tue Mar 16, 2021 10:02 pm

Hi there!
Today I wanted to group clusters of intruments (for example 'all violin samples', and 'all trumpets') to different outputs...
One stereo group appears in the Cubase mixer (output 1-2) but the others don't.
I've set the different intstruments in Philharmonik to stereo outputs 1-2, 3-4, 5-6.
But how to connect the corresponding outputs to different outputs in Cubase..?
Hope someone can help!
Could'nt find anything on te net...
Cheers! Charley

Hi Charlz and welcome to the forum.

If Cubase is like other DAWs (which I think it is) you'll need to select the MP2 instrument as the Multi-Output option rather than just the Stereo. That should then mean that MP2 reports the additional outputs to Cubase.

Hope that helps.

Hi Garfy.
Thanks for your reply!
Do you mean that one is restricted to the 'multi' instruments when
you want to have multi outputs?
That would be curious, because you can set any channel in MP to another output.
Or don't I understand what you mean..?

PROBLEM SOLVED!
I didn't expect to find the option 'activate outputs' in the pull down menu in the
upper right corner.
There you can activate 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 etc. by checking their individual boxes.

Thaks again!
Cheers!

Well it doesn't help that there are multiple ways to instantiate virtual instruments that frankly make it more confusing than it needs to be. As much as that pains me to say as a very long-time Cubase user.
