Standalone authorized but plugin won't [Resolved]

Postby gooozen » Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:17 pm

3 weeks ago I'd purchased AmpliTube 5 and SVX/SVX2. The stand alone app works flawless and I think its quality is awesome and very inspiring.

However, everytime I select an instance of the plugin within Logic Pro X 10.6.1 (LPX) it keeps asking for authorization, and reverting to the most basic free version. Sometimes when I open a new project authorization is no problem but after a few minutes I end up with an unauthorized plugin producing noise every few minutes. When trying to authorize the plugin by clicking "ok" nothing happens.

I'd open a request ticket and the past few weeks have been busy with trying to find a solution. I even ended up upgrading my OS (to Big Sur) in the search for a working solution. The help desk has been very helpful, but could not suggest a working solution or workaround. So today I finally asked for a refund.

The answer was "Your purchases were made beyond our 14 day return window". So a refund is not possible". How very helpful. Now I'm really [mod edit for language], spending more than 250€ on software that I can't use the way it must be used.

Anyone else having this expirience?

Please continue to work with Official Support. Reply to your ticket explaining that, so far, you still do not have a working product and require more assistance. They will help you out.

Thanks

For the heck of it, I'd download reaper and see if the same problem persists. I'm certain you've done permissions and all that associated with a mac.

Reaper is not "free" but it's a great way to check out bugs.

Also, I don't know if I'm being repetitive of support but if you unauthorize it and then try to authorize it from the plug in, does that help?

Again, sorry if you've already tried this.

Yes I tried all the suggestions support gave me. Also the permissions thing.
Authorizing after starting the plugin is not possible. There seems to be no connection between the plugin and the authorization app. When I click the "oke", nothing happens.

The official support team has been helpful, but was not able to find a solution.
Do you have the same problem?

I'm indeed thinking it may be something in LPX, so I'm very curious to know about your experiment with reaper.

I haven't had any issues. I just know that mac supports reaper and that it's a small file and you can "evaluate" it for as long as you'd like, that way you can see if the problem is persistent or limited to Logic.

dang, now things get real strange.
I can open the AmpliTube 5 plugin in reaper (AU vst vst3) authorized and all. No problems at all.

IMHO than there must be a compatibility problem between LPX and Ampltibe 5 (or the authorization app) than. But why am I the only one to suffer? MacOS 11.2, iMac 2019
It seems nobody else is reporting this issue

^^^
Go back to Support and let them know your latest findings. That will help the development team track down the problem and fix it.

And maybe other Logic users have gone straight to Technical Support, rather than posting on the forum.

Welp, that is weird. But it's a step in the right direction.

support was very helpful but we were not able to identify the cause of this problem. After much mail and answers, and actions to be taken, I figured maybe an OS update would do the trick. Even that was not a solution.

In the end I did a clean (re)install and reformat of my drive. It took me the better part of a weekend, but worked out fine. No I'm 100% one. Still very anxious every time I open Amplitube though.

Computers are strange. They shouldn't be so cryptic.
