Auth static, what am I doing wrong?

Postby shalperin » Sat Jan 30, 2021 6:48 pm

Amplitube5 running as AU plugin in Ableton Live
"Trying" a pedal I don't own in custom shop
Custom shop is running
I get what I think is authorization static.

Did I miss a step?

Afraid not. I demoed some stuff a while back and get a ton of noise while using it. Sometimes it stops. Others chimed in and said they experienced the same problem.

Write a ticket, I did but never heard back from them (maybe you'll have more luck.

This doesn't strike me as what I'd call "noise". It sounds like static deliberately inserted when the authorization doesn't link up with Custom Shop. Other companies like Rogue Amoeba (SoundFlower, SoundSource...etc) do this for their demo versions too.

I just feel like CustomShop isn't talking to the AU plugin for whatever reason... although the pedal does work, so IDK.

I could be wrong though.

Your not wrong, that's what it is.

When you have the custom shop open it should be communicating with the product so that you can try it properly. It doesn't work well right now for many of us (there is another thread I started)
