Big Sur Error Message - AT5 won't open at all [Resolved]

Postby JackTxcliffe » Thu Dec 17, 2020 12:34 am

Whenever I open the app on my Big Sur Intel Mac (2015 12 inch Macbook), it jumps up and down for a sec then I get "AmpliTube 5 quit unexpectedly", followed by this. Anyone else getting the same error? Any ideas on how to resolve?:

Try changing your display resolution. On my MacBook it will only open when scaled to the “more space” setting. Good luck!

Just wanted to add (to help any others out there), there is a similar issue with Windows 10. I'm running it on my Studio PC 4k monitor with no issues, but my Surface Pro (w10) which I use with iRig Stomp I/O refused to start AT5 until I changed the screen scaling from 150% (windows recommended) to either 100% or 125%.

Had the same issue with AT5 not even showing a startup screen but crashing instantly.

I could solve the problem on my MacBook Pro (intel) running on Big Sur by changing the resolution of my retina display from „standard“ to „scaled / more space“.

For the moment fine as a workaround but that defintely needs to be fixed soon !!!
