iRig Pads editor

Postby joe.gillespie » Sat Nov 21, 2020 7:55 pm

I have just bought an iRig Pads and was disappointed to find that the editor is not compatible with Big Sur. Is a fix in the works?

Too late, I had already updated to Big Sur before buying the iRig but really, this app hasn't been updated since 2015. An update is overdue as Apple update the security requirements often. OSX Betas are available to developers for testing well in advance.

Apple's betas are notoriously not what gets released. The best way to find out if there is a fix in the works is to contact IK Support at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support as they would have more direct information about that.

The Pads Editor is 32 bit and hasn't been compatible with the latest Mac OS since 2017. I'm really surprised that the pads editor hasn't been recoded for 64 bit. IK still sells the iRig Pads, but as of Dec. 1, 2020, Apple no longer services ANY operating system that accepts 32 bit apps.

When will the fix come?
