Amplitube 4 Distortion Fuzzy & Distant

Hi,

I am new to Amplitube 4. I get very nice clean sounds from the amps but distortion sound is problematic.

All the distortion amp presets /high gain amps sound very much muffled/distant/fuzzy with no sustain, like somebody covered the output cab in sand. However, if switch the amp off entirely in Amplitube, and just run wiht OD/Dist pedal, there is suddenly volume / presence and most of the fuzziness disappears. If I run the dials on the amps I cannot improve the sound quality.

Hope there is an easy fix that I am not just aware.
