With AT5 coming out, what direction are folks thinking? I found that the PC AT4 and iOS versions have been pretty consistent, so other than the usual complaints about having to buy gear twice, running the Stomp I/O from the PC or iPad became a matter of convenience. I personally liked the iPad as I didn’t have to bring a laptop and stand with me.
With AT5, will the quality be significantly better running the Stomp from a PC? Should I double-down on the PC platform moving forward?
For gigging, I am running a HeadRush FRFR-112 for sound reinforcement, and have Max packages on both platforms. I have the Axe I/O + AT5 Max bundle on order (got a new I/O and the extra equipment since AT4 Max and used my JamPoints – so worth it IMO). My PC "gear" will be more comprehensive that my IOS, so that may be a factor.
