Modo Drum "Pop Funk" preset

Postby agsz5b » Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:18 am

Hello everyone!

The Audio Sample which really attracted me to MODO Drum, was the "Pop Funk Song" (Pop Funk Solo) demo. However, I was quite surprised that this preset did not come with the MODO Drum (full) installation.

I've been fiddling around to make it myself, by ear, and I'm not getting close. Specially regarding the snare.

Is this posted somewhere? Is my installation faulty? Could anyone share it?

Best regards,
Hugo

Hey Hugo,

Thanks for joining in the conversation.

This audio demo doesn't have a corresponding preset, don't worry you're not missing anything.

Check out some of our MODO DRUM videos for some tips. Some of the tips come down to the articulations of the drums and using the play position to dial in for your specific performance. The bottom video had MODO DRUM used for some mixing tips.

Hope these help!

Thank you for the quick response, Ryan!
I've seen a couple of those, I'll check the last one.

If you had to guess, which snare should be my starting point?

Best regards,
Hugo

That's not exactly my genre, so others might have good alternatives to my suggestion, but I would pick the Bubinga kit, the Bubinga MadFunk might be a good place to start. Of course you'll want to do some tailoring to your specific track to see how it fits and what you need to change. Hope that helps!

I second the Bubinga kit for funk. You can tighten up the snare as much as sounds good with the song/project with MODO DRUM and enjoy :D
