iRig Pre HD and computer

Postby Cynthiad14 » Sat May 09, 2020 6:37 pm

I'm looking at the iRig Pre HD as both a way to get sound into my iPhone and to use with a Mac/PC computer. I read the manual. I understand that when connected to an iPhone, if I'm using a mic that requires phantom power, the iRig Pre HD can supply it via 2 AA batteries.

Based on the manual, I'm unclear on whether I need to use the batteries to supply the phantom power when connecting the same mic to a computer via the iRig. Will the bus power from the computer provide phantom power to the mic via the iRig Pre HD?

Thanks.

Phantom power is provided via the batteries.
