iRig Pro Duo - 2 Questions

Postby Johnnyglass86 » Sun Jun 09, 2019 12:11 am

I am moving to a software based setup for my keyboard sounds. I will be using iOS and SampleTank as my sound library. No issues there.

Question #1 - If I use an external power supply for the iRig Pro Duo, will it charge my iOS device (iPhone XS Max) while in use? Or will I have to buy Apple’s lightning splitter adapter to keep my device charged? I regularly play 3-4 hour engagements so making sure my sound library stays charged is important.

Question #2 - My Controller is a Novation Impulse 49. It has Midi In/Out which is fine since the iRig includes those cables. But the Novation itself is typically powered over USB. Obviously I won’t be using USB, I’ll be using Midi. Will the Midi power my Controller or do I need to find some way to power my controller over USB?

Thanks in advance.

The iRig Pro Duo will have a 9V DC power supply port (500mA min, Positive Sleeve). This will not charge your iOS device, but power your iRig Pro Duo for mobile use without the need for batteries.

The iRig PowerBridge is suggested to charge your iOS device while using your iRig Pro Duo. This will not power your iRig, but allow for iRig use during charging.

This would be a question best suited for the Novation team. Check with their team for their opinion, and if you'd like, give it a shot in the meantime. We offer the iRig Stomp I/O which allows the USB port to be used with power when used in stand-alone mode (As just a MIDI controller).
