Neil Peart Drums MIDI Map

Postby rockmachine85 » Sat Dec 22, 2018 2:38 am

Greetings.

I recently purchased the NP Drums / Sampletank. They sound great so far.

I am using them primarily in Reaper. I have searched high and low, and cannot find a MIDI Note to Drum Mapping for any of the kits in the set.

Having the drum names mapped to notes in Reaper's editor would make my creative process a lot easier.

I'm sure these exist - just don't know where to find them.

Please help, thanks.

Edit: I'm not a drummer. So other than Bass Drum, Tom 1, Tom 2, I'm not able to ID drums by sound. Need this mapping to learn, as well. Thanks.

Neil Peart Drum for SampleTank 3 was produced for IK Multimedia by its partner Sonic Reality:

Generally SR use an extended General MIDI mapping, named iMap:
https://sonicreality.com/imap.php

Let us know which one. If you are still stuck then Allen, SR's Support Manager is very helpful.

... any success?

Also, it would be best to change your Account Name away from an email address, to minimise the chance of it being harvested by web bots and you receiving all sorts of 'special offers' etc from all over the place for years and years. You can change it here:

Hi,

Thanks for replying. I took at quick look at the SR/Sample Tank map on my phone. Looks right.

I was hoping for a text file that I could mod to import into Reaper, but when I get back to my music PC I'll just plug the notes / names into a file manually. I guess.

Thanks also for the link to change my uname. I couldn't figure out how to do that on this forum.

Much appreciated.
