Is the USB connector issue with the iRig HD 2 a common probl

I gifted my 11-year-old an iRig HD 2 for Christmas to allow him to connect his guitar to an iPad for use with GarageBand. However, the USB connector on the iRig HD 2 is not very stable and even a slight nudge can cause it to lose the connection to GarageBand, disrupting any progress he had made.

I am very disappointed in this product and its connection. Have others experienced this issue, and is it possible that I received a faulty unit that should be returned to Guitar Center?

This is not the expected behavior. IK Support can also help you with any warranty issues or you may want to check with your retailer as you mentioned.
