How To Transfer My Products To My New Computer

Postby fjzax » Sat May 14, 2022 4:42 am

I hope I'm posting this in the correct area.

I'm finally getting a new computer, and I need some guidance on how to move my licences over.

I use AmpliTube5, a bunch of T-Racks plugs, SampleTank4 SE with a bunch of sounds that I have save on a backup drive (still zipped).

Any help or a nudge in the right direction will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
fj

  • UnAuthorize the software products using the IK Product Manager ("IKPM").
  • Create a folder for the SampleTank library on the new system (for example
    D:/IK Multimedia/SampleTank 4/
  • Copy your complete ST4 sounds library across into that folder.
  • Using the IKPM, install each software product and Authorize it.
  • Run the stand-alone Custom Shop program, login , click on your Account Name and select "Restore my Purchases"
  • Run the Stand-alone SampleTank program and, in the Preference Settings, set its Sound Content path to the folder you created above.
  • If you have any of your own presets etc (in My Documents/IK Multimedia, on Windows) you will need to copy them across too.

Thanks DarkStar, I appreciate the quick reply!

When I copy all my sounds over, do I have to unzip them, or just leave them as is? Then do I need to reinstall them in the Product Manager, or will just setting the Sound Content path in SampleTank be enough? Note that I'm referring to the backup of my sounds as they were when downloaded from IK. These zip file were saved from location: Documents/IK Multimedia/IK Product Manager (with a separate folder for each sound library) as created by IK during install.

Copy the installed sounds library if you still have it.

Ah, so the ZIPped files are those from the original IKPM "downloads" folder. In that case put them in a folder and select that folder in IKPM on the new machine as its "downloads folder. Then Install each library (you may wish to set the "Install to" location BEFORE running the install, so that the library is installed where you want it.
