Axe i/o Line Out to FX Return

So I'm trying to use my axe i/o with my head & cabinet. I've read on other forums you can just use Line Out of the axe/io to the FX Return of your head, therefore bypassing the preamp and just using the power amp section.

I'm getting no sound when trying this. I can see my levels moving when im playing, I have Line Out 1 selected (tried all 4 line outs).

Has anyone succesfully used their axe i/o line out to a guitar head?

Well, its working now. I changed heads and it's working as expecting. The head it's not working for apparently requires a dummy jack plugged into the input to engage the FX loop.
