Help with using Discord and Amplitube Simultaneously

Postby jclark7878 » Fri Aug 25, 2023 6:57 am

I'm having an issue using the AXE I/O Solo simultaneously with Discord.

1. I am in a Discord call with friends.
2. I open Amplitube, using the built-in ASIO driver in Amplitube settings.
3. I can no longer hear the output of my friends' voices in Discord. My microphone still transmits through Discord, but Amplitube seems to have overtaken the output of my computer. This is true with other things as well: YouTube, Twitch, etc. If Amplitube is open, I don't get any audio output into my headphones from anything other than Amplitube.

Notes: My sound output in Windows/Discord/Amplitube is set to the Out 1/2 of the AXE I/O solo, as I have my headphones plugged into the audio interface. Friends with different interfaces (i.e. Focusrite Scarlett) do not have this issue.

Any ideas?

I found the solution!

Windows Key -> Settings -> Sound

Select "Sound Control Panel" on the right side.

Right click your output device (in my case "Line Out 1/2"), select "Properties"

Switch to the "Advanced" tab.

Deselect the check box labeled "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device."

Profit.
