AmpliTube 5 presets

Postby HankBuddyMarc-61 » Thu Apr 06, 2023 8:24 pm

Greetings all

I am using AmpliTube 5 through my Axe I/O and it works (using presets) when I listen through my headphones connected to the Axe but not when I use the amp out to connect to my amp. All I get out of the amp is the same clean sound whatever preset I use. Any help please?

Click on the three bars in Amplitube 5 (menu) and select controller , make sure that L1/L2 out has "To Amp" active. Not into the effects loop but into one of your amps main guitar inputs of course.

Thanks but that's not the issue. I already have 'TO AMP OUT' selected in the Axe I/O 'interface' section (There is no option in 'controller' for this) and I am into the main amp input. There is no option for this from the Amplitube 5 (3 bars) menu.
I am getting sound out of the amp as usual, but its just the guitar clean sound, and unaffected by any Amplitube setting.
As I say, through my headphones it all works fine.

Please make sure the MONITOR knob is turned all the way to the "DAW" side.

Do you mean the line outputs 1 - 4 ? If so, I have nothing that I can plug into these to test.

One possible explanation is that the output level of the Axe I/O is not sufficient to drive your amp properly. You may need to adjust the output level of the Axe I/O to ensure that the signal is strong enough to drive the amp. Another possibility is that there may be an issue with the cable you're using to connect the Axe I/O to your amp.
I would recommend checking your cables first to ensure that they're properly connected and functioning. If the cables are fine, then try adjusting the output level on the Axe I/O to see if that resolves the issue.

Try taking the cable you're using for the'amp out' and move it to the number '1/L' line out output jack on back of I/O then to your amp input...

The OP stated that he is getting clean sounds out of the amp and presets out of the headphones. This is not a cable issue. It looks like the output is not configured correctly. It should be ASIO in / ASIO out (Both from the AXE NOT windows sounds)

Thanks Timo2019 that works great. Would still like it to work out of the 'Amp out' as it should though.

Thanks LanaerTh12 but cables are fine, they work everywhere else. Output level on Axe can be turned to full on but makes no difference.

Thanks Sharmon123, Axe is already configured with ASIO in and out as you suggest.

Is the Axe in minimum config ? Only your guitar plugged in , Headphones , USB and power to make sure an errant CC isn't shutting down Amplitube 5 presets on Amp out. DAW all the way to the right , pickups are set to active or passive correctly , Jfet selected and finally set your ins and outs to not clip. Make sure that your amp out is mono and not stereo as well. How many ASIO drivers are installed on the host machine ? No conflicts ? After this you may be looking at an RMA on it if this doesn't resolve.

Thanks Sharmon123, yes Axe in minimum config. Guitar, headphones, USB and power. DAW to the right, passive pickups and JFET set, no clipping and Amp out to mono. Don't know about ASIO drivers on host machine, not sure how to check will try and find out.
