At-Home Bass Playing Rehearsal

Postby Hossinn » Mon Jan 02, 2023 11:23 pm

Hello,

I enjoy playing along to songs via PC, through headphones. I'm generally playing along with songs I've uploaded to DropBox from band rehearsal or learning songs from YouTube. My current setup is:

- PC in to Scarlett 2i2
- Scarlett to Mackie 802VLZ4
- Guitar in to Mesa Boogie Subway (pre-amp)
- Subway out to Mackie
- Headphones out of Mackie

This works fine, although somebody suggested the Mackie may be redundant for what I'm doing (see above). Do you agree?

The only thing I'm missing is the ability to loop song section and slow tempos, like I used to do with the simple i-rig/iPhone set up. My question is, can I download a UI for the PC which does the same thing the i-rig app does, or do I need to continue using i-rig and the iPhone app (no PC version available)?

What does the chain order look like? Bass > i-rig > pre-amp > Scarlett > Headphones out?..or would I go bass > i-righ > Mackie (with same, above setup between PC/pre-amp/Scarlett?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
