Lightning Bolt extension

Has anyone here tried using a Lightning Bolt extension with the regular cable to connect an iPad to an iRig Stomp I/O? Does it work? I would rather have my iPad on a mic stand instead of on the floor. They're not made for that.

I use the camera kit to USB adapter with my AXE I/O and connect to the iPhone over USB. This adapter also allows for a power lead to go into the lightning jack too keeping power in the device.
