Axe io and a subwoofer

Postby rnuttall11 » Sat Feb 05, 2022 10:01 pm

I have my studio monitors plugged in to the interface and works great. Would I be able to connect a subwoofer to the axe io as well?

Generally, the subwoofer or the stereo speakers act as a crossover. For example, some monitors with a subwoofer have you plug the stereo leads into the subwoofer first and it acts as a crossover keeping the low end to itself and passing the other frequencies to the stereo speakers.

So, in short, you can but it's more a property of your speaker system than the Axe I/O. I wouldn't imagine you'd get a whole lot of sonic benefit from it as that end of the sonic spectrum is not really where guitar lives. That said, you're backing tracks would be extra lively!
