Using my Stomp I/O, I tried connecting the left output jack directly to the FOH mixer using a TRS to XLR cable. It's my understanding that a DI isn't required. The output was very low even with the output volume turned all the way up, and the input gain on the mixer turned all the way up. Yes, the input gain on the stomp was set correctly.
The TRS cable is brand new and wired correctly.
When I used a regular TS patch cable out to a DI, the volume was as expected and everything worked fine.
Is there a limit to how long the TRS to XLR cable can be? This cable is 25ft.
