iRig ProDuo High Pitch Squeal from USB

Postby acecase » Sun Feb 07, 2021 6:13 am

I'm having a problem with a high pitch squeal when I have my HX Stomp and iRig both connected to USB.

What I'm trying to do is this...
Mic -> iRig Pro DUO (line 1)
Guitar -> HX Stomp -> iRig Pro DUO (line 2)
Headphone to iRig headphone output.

It works great, and it's nice to be able to use Helix Native along with the stomp, but I have to unplug USB from the HX Stomp every time I want to play this way because when it's plugged in I get a high pitch squeal. The squeal doesn't exist if I leave everything hooked up and run my headphones directly from the Stomp, so it's not getting introduced in the effects loop.

It seems like it's a kindof feedback effect from my USB.

Just hoping someone else has figured out what it is, and how to get rid of it.

Thanks.

Even though this is an old article, the tips/suggestions are still mostly legit: https://www.soundonsound.com/sound-advi ... ning-sound
