Pro Tools freezing opening projects created with non-Axe I/O

I have previous Pro Tools sessions that were recorded using a Focusrite 18i20.
When I try to open them with only AXE I/O present they freeze, and Pro Tools is "not responding".
When I open using the Focusrite they are fine, and if then turn on my AXE I/O and attempt to switch to it in Pro Tools, same thing....just hangs on me.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

It might be best to check with Pro Tools support, but in the meantime, you can try clearing your Pro Tools preferences or launching without an audio interface connected.
