How to best use the iRig for DJ sets to Twitch

Postby tonyzeoli » Sun May 24, 2020 5:44 am

Hi,

I have an iRig I purchased to stream DJ sets over Twitch and now MixCloud. I have a Mackie ProFX8 which has two XLR master outs and 2 1/4 master outs and they are stereo. I have a dual 1/4" male to RCA male cable connected to a dual RCA female stero to XLR Y-cable connected to the iRig.

I've read here in the forums that the iRig has a mono input, so my stereo cables are really not necessary, is that correct?

How should I connect the L/R channel to a mono input?

Do I need Mono dual 1/4" male to single XLR male cable to go into the iRig?

Or maybe I could do a dual 1/4" male to dual 1/4" male mono cables to a Y cable for dual 1/4" to single male XLR mono Y cable to the iRig.

Am I on the right track? Do you have any suggestions?

I know with what I currently have, I am getting audio artifacts when the L/R are both plugged in. If I inplug one of the artifacts disappear.

I would appreciate the advice. Thanks!

Tony
