AXE I/O help what am I doing wrong

Postby Ron Reilly » Wed Apr 22, 2020 5:05 pm

Just got my axe i/o yesterday 4/21. Logged onto ik registered, downloaded and authorized all my products and drivers. restarted computer, pulled up Amplitube Max set audio setting, I get a signal in Amplitube Max but it’s only clean guitar sound? I can pick a metal preset, still only get a clean guitar? This happens with other plugins I have, what the hell am I doing wrong? New MacBook, brand new axe I/o, Adams monitors. Had a Focusrite Scarlett solo 3rd gen that I smashed because it was garbage. Now I just get the axe I/o and all I get is clean guitar thru everything. How can this be

Make sure you have the Monitor knob set correctly (all the way to "DAW" if you want to only hear the affected signal, which is the way most would have it under your circumstances/needs).

I assume Ron followed what Peter asked him to do since he didn't reply back. Pasted below is from one of my past posts:

dlgebert wrote:The next thing to check is how the physical [ MONITOR] knob is set. The knob is on the right side the AXE I/O next to the [HEADPHONE] knob. Make sure it is turned all the way to the right, pointing to [DAW]. Whether you are using a DAW or the standalone Amplitube application, it needs to be turned all the way to the right to hear just the signal processed thru the Amplitube standalone application or the plugin inside your DAW.

This is not a "fix", but the way to hear just the processed signal.

Dave,

Bingo, I had the monitor knob right but the audio settings in Amplitube were all sorts of jacked up. Got it figured out now, thanks.

I am having the same issue- my monitor is turned to the DAW side of things still clean sounds - when trying to use in standalone. I use Logic Pro x and the interface works properly in the DAW and I can access the other plugins and features in the DAW but can't seem to get AmpliTube into. Logic Pro...tips or thoughts anyone ??

What kind of system do you have, Mac or PC? Are you using an actual DAW, or the standalone Amplitube 4 application?

It definitely has to do with my buffer setting. Just need to close background apps and set properly.
