Keys I/O Gooseneck Microphone - or recommended alternative?

Postby richmn » Tue Apr 30, 2019 6:15 pm

I received the Keys I/O gooseneck add-on microphone as part of a promotion. I like the idea of it as a way to play and sing at the same time as part of a mobile kit. However I haven't had good luck with it and it's been mostly been in storage. It gives loud pops occasionally (loose fit) and when I am playing it makes noises (it picks up the playing of the keys as click/thump in the microphone). Does anyone have a better experience - am I doing something wrong? In the marketing materials they show a man playing the keyboard and singing - I don't see how this could ever be done without loud noises.

Do users have another suggestion? Is there an XLR compatible headset Mic that would work better for a portable 'play and sing' setup? I am considering a Shure SM35-XLR.
