AXE I/O: level matching between amp out and guitar in?

Postby Asthenia69 » Wed Feb 13, 2019 7:10 pm

Hi, I'm looking to purchase the AXE I/O for guitar recording/reamplifying.

I'm curious is there a dedicated way to match the gain set on amp output with guitar in, so that I can easily make sure that the level of the signal fed into the amp is identical to the level coming out of my guitar? (Like the Unity Gain function with Apogee Ensemble...)

Many thanks in advance!

Hey Asthenia69,

Thanks for your post and interest in the AXE I/O!

The AXE I/O re-amp output (Output 5) is designed to be sent straight into guitar/instrument amplifiers. The signal sent from this port will be almost exactly the same as the signal input into your AXE I/O, but with some extra controls (Channel 1 - Gain, Z-Tone, Pure/JFET) which can be used to get some different sounds from your guitar amplifier. This output will also offer a ground lift switch in the Control Panel allow for a noise free re-amping.
