iPad stage case with iRig Stomp I/O?

Postby edmundtownes » Tue Nov 13, 2018 5:57 pm

Okay. So after, like, THREE gigs using Ampiltube iPad and the iRig Stomp I/O, I am an official fanboy :P (person?) of IK Multimedia. Holy eff. I love this combo. It's 96% perfect. What would make this scenario 1000% percent just right would be a way to get the iPad CLOSE to the floor but away from liquids and heavy things, like feet, falling on my gear.

I've been trying to wrap my head around feeling cool about putting the iPad on an iKlip... but what I really want is something that LOOOOKS awesome and a little custom and like my techs (the ones I don't have) built for me.

Any ideas would be cool. I'd just like a few starting points from anyone who has been down or is currently on the same road.

Best,
JT

Hi JT,

I've been thinking the same thing. I bought the mini-DIN extension cable to get the iPad out of the Stomp I/O and up higher where I could see it better, control it by hand if I had to, and prevent stepping/spilling on it. I did find an On-Stage mic stand that is meant to slide under a pedal board, but i haven't ordered that yet.

You could put an iKlip or similar iPad holder on that. Even change out the mic stand piece with a shorter one if you don't need a mic. Just not sure if the Stomp I/O would sit on the flat part well or not with all the cables in the back. Let me know if you come up with a solution!

Hey JT,

Glad to hear you are enjoying your iRig Stomp I/O :D

The extension cable below would help you in this predicament. This can help get your iPad around 6ft away from your iRig Stomp I/O while still allowing normal use and charging. This can help you connect your iPad to an iKlip or any other solution you see fit.

Check out the iKlip Xpand if you haven't done so. This is a great tablet holder which will work with a wide range of devices due to the expandable arms. I'm sure you can find a way to make this look cool on stage 8-)
