Tonex Max then pedal purchase

I'm thinking of upgrading my Tonex to Max... But later on I may buy the pedal.
Is there a way to get the Max software refunded when later buying the pedal?
Otherwise it seems a disadvantage to buy the Max software now, or am I missing something?
