Advanced Capture freezes

Hi,

I’m having an issue with the advanced training on Tonex Capture. It freezes at exactly 6.2 % .

I’m using an ASUS gaming laptop with Intel i5 Hexcore processor and Nvidia 3050ti GPU.
I’ve set the Tonex app to High Performance in the graphics setting so it uses the GPU and also in the Nvidia control set Tonex as an app using the GPU.
I’ve tried Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling both on and off.

Default works flawlessly ( less than 5 minutes) but whatever I do the advanced freezes at 6.2% .

I’ve opened a support ticket but also asking here for similar experiences and solutions

Exactly the same problem here. Advanced training freezes at 6.2% as well but only in maximum detail mode. My laptop is a Gigabyte with a 12th generation i5 with a Nvidia 3050 graphics card. The problem happened to me on February 22nd and I opened a support ticket immediately. I have not received an answer but until today I have not tried again, after making the two updates that have occurred since then, thinking that one of these updates would solve the problem, but no.

I am going to update the ticket, but I am also adding it here in case someone has managed to solve it.

Yes, I'm using a gaming laptop with a GForce
RTX 3050 Ti, too. Intel I9 12900H CPU...

No problems in regular mode, though.

Only in advaced Mode.

Same issue here - advanced Mode hangs when looking for the _ capture network and won't even get to the percentage complete indicator starting. Also if I press 'STOP' I can't go back and do a default or quick capture as the start button is perma greyed out. This doesn't happen if you stop a default capture halfway through. Nvidea 750 GTX TI here with 2gb of onboard RAM. The PC has i7-4770 and 16GB of RAM including SSD hard drive. Plenty fast for most stuff.

So, still having the issue of freezing at 6.2% on Advanced Capture.
Yesterday I upgraded the RAM to 32gb ( from 8 GX).

Ran a default in around 4 minutes, Advanced still freezing.

Looking at the memory use in Task Manager app there are really big spikes in memory use, over 19gb at one point.

I’m really thinking it is an issue with the Nvidia RTX 3050ti not being supported.

Asked IK for an update last week and got told the pay will ‘ bump the development team’.

Asked for another update yesterday.

Forgot to add…

IK have been asking me to try various things over the weeks.
Increasing VRAM ( can’t on my system) , sending Tonex Capture logs through etc.

One thing that asked they asked to do was disable CUDA in the GPU.
Did that and advanced went past 6.2% but was very slow, around 20 minutes to reach 6.2.

Again maybe indicates there is a compatibility issue with the 3050ti?

I have the 750 TI which is a very common graphics card and it isn't even getting to 0% it just hangs. I have seen a range of reports about this dating back with people who have a range of systems and cards which stikes me more like a bug than an exception compatibility issue.

Hoping it is a bug as opposed to a wider compatibility issue.

Have you all logged tickets with IK support? More highlighting of issues may increase focus in the IK dev team.

I have asked for updates on this issue several time now and all the response I receive is that someone will check with the Dev team then nothing else.
My last request for an update was 2 weeks ago.

It’s clear that there is no resolution from the team so really I think that as a company IK need to be informing potential customers that Tonex is not fully compatible with certain GPU/ Laptops or whatever the issue is.

Hope there’s is a resolution in the future but until then Tonex for me is a dead end.

I’ve had some contact from IK.

They have assured me that there is an update coming which will resolve the issues.

I’ll update when it drops.

So, with the latest update the Advanced Capture freezing has been resolved.

Credit to the IK team who have worked on a resolution to this. They have been in very regular contact over the months, asking me to try out solutions, submit error logs etc.
IK also allowed me a beta test of the new engine to trial.
