Really weird bug with AT5 and Tone-X

Postby raulfragoso » Fri Feb 17, 2023 9:41 pm

Hey everyone,

Today I noticed a very weird bug while practicing with Amplitube 5 and using any Tone-X based amp model. Whenever I play the F# note on the 1st string (14th fret), there's some kind of audio breakage happening. Initially I thought it was my guitar  Then I switched to another guitar and the same problem happens every time. If I switch to any non Tone-X model, the problem is not present. I've recorded myself reproducing the problem to a friend of mine who also uses AT5, please excuse the foreign language as I speak portuguese to my friend in the video, but it will give you a clear idea of the issue.

Really funny, huh?

What's the best channel to report this issue to IK Multimedia ?

Didn't happen with me. I was sure to have the guitar in perfect tune (concert pitch).

I think I've found the culprit: the Noise Gate :D
If I disable the noise gate for the modeled amp, the problem no longer happens, so the noise gate filter is definitely doing something weird in the frequency of F# (740 Hz).

I'll try that at some point today too! I'll alter the sensitivity of the gate too to see if level has an impact. I'll get back to you later today.

Other users may chip in with suggestions.

Meanwhile, as this is not a company Support forum, the best thing to do is contact Technical Support via the IKM web site, for some one to one diagnosis and help. Search the FAQs first, as there may be relevant results. After that, you should see a [Contact Support] button at the bottom of the page, linking you to the Support form.

Hi, I tried this. I can't reproduce this bug.

Can you post your interface model as well as project settings. sample rate, buffer e.t.c.

Bingo! :)
After upgrading to 1.1.1, the problem has been resolved. They must have fixed in the latest release.

Thank you everyone!
