Optimal sound - Where to cut volume

Postby tom_sc1 » Sat Apr 02, 2022 6:14 pm

I am trying to get a handle on where to 'cut' the volume in my setup chain. Primarily I listen to youtube / jamplay while playing along with Amplitube and trying to determine where I should try and 'contain' the volume for guitar, if that makes sense.

Setup: guitar - AXE I/O - Amplitube

There are a number of places to control the sound I am just not sure where to do that.

For example, I can set it at amplitube amp volume, amplitube total output, then in AXE I can limit volume on the Master or the Headphone volume level. Then of course at the guitar.

I feel like if I open up volume to full at everything but guitar, i have to really cut the guitar vol to very low, otherwise I feel like I am about to blow the headphones.

Maybe some of this makes sense and someone has a similar setup and can provide their best practices. Thanks!
